QUALIA STRUCTURE is supporting the event "Let's Explore! The World of 'Consciousness' You Don't Know – Experience How the 'Ordinary' Can Waver!", held at Miraikan (the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation) as a collaboration between the "Exploring the Wonder World Through Children's Eyes" project and Miraikan. Dr. Naotsugu Tsuchiya (Monash University), Principal Investigator of Research Group A01, and Dr. Kosuke Itoh (Brain Research Institute, Niigata University), from Publicly Offered Research Group B01, will take part as guest speakers.

 When we see or hear the same thing, do we all experience it in the same way? Focusing on differences in how people perceive and feel, the event offers three programs: a workshop, a hands-on corner, and a panel exhibition. In the hands-on corner, "How Does It Sound to You? – Compare How You Feel Sounds," based on Dr. Itoh's research, visitors can express the colors and facial expressions they associate with sounds and discover their own type of musical perception. The panel exhibition, "Is Your World the Same as Everyone Else's? – Experience Differences in Perception," introduces Dr. Tsuchiya's research on subjective consciousness (qualia), together with the work of Dr. Masami Yamaguchi (Chuo University).

 Admission is free. The hands-on corner and panel exhibition are open to everyone with no registration required. The workshop (ages 6 and up, 8 participants per session) uses numbered tickets distributed on the day. Please see below for details.
